Our mission

EST. 2019 Hidden Content Network is a 501(c) (3) organization aiming to connect people of the African Diaspora and ignite positive support within communities of color. By using media and events to celebrate people of color and encourage us to come together to discuss and find solutions to the issues that are impacting our communities

HCN was established in May of 2019 as a 501(c)(3)

Our story began in 2017 when Serah Beckley was attending her bachelor degree program where she was the president of the Environmental and Social Issues Club. As the president of the club Serah felt it was important to have an event to alleviate the tension and the concerns of the lack of support within black and poc communities.

To have the event Serah partnered with the Black Student Union at the university. The president of the BSU was Success Edioma. Together, we wanted to have an event at the university that would allow us to support BIPOC people and discuss the issues impacting our communities to come up with solutions.

After submitting for funding for the event we got the unfortunate news that our university would not be funding us for the event. Instead of us accepting their decision we decided to use Go Fund Me to raise the funds for the event. We were able to raise $1,500 for our first Networking Event. From that point onward we realized that it will ALWAYS be up to us as people of color to raise the money and unite with each other to create the changes we want to see in our communities.

The Name: Hidden Content Network

The first event that HCN did was at Serah Beckley and Success Idioma bachelor's degree university. We called the event Hidden Colors Networking Event because we were inspired by the untold stories and history from the Hidden Colors film.

When it came time to register our organization as a 501(c)(3) we decided to name it Hidden Content Network.

Hidden is for the untold stories and history that we want to bring awareness of.

Content is for the content that we share that is related to relationships/family art/talent ,cultural/traditional food, spirituality/wellness, and awareness.

Network is for the supportive community of like minded people that we hope to bring together to connect and support one another.
